KNOX, LANA The passing of Lana Knox of Fredericton, NB, wife of Paul Knox occurred on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at home. Born on April 29, 1953 in Woodstock, NB, she was the daughter of Lois Johnston. In addition to her husband of 38 years, Lana is survived by her sons, Chris of Moncton, NB and his children, Colten and Andrew; John of Fredericton, NB and his child, Dillon; Michael (Alexandria) of Fredericton, NB and their children, Logan, Aurora and Lillianne; sisters, Barbara Johnston of Fredericton, NB, June (Kenny) Tomah of Woodstock, NB and Beverley Godsoe of Fredericton, NB and several nieces and nephews. JUSSENHOFEN, ROLF It is with great sadness that the family of Rolf Jussenhofen announces his passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Saturday, November 14th, 2009 at the age of 81. The husband of Ruth (Guttmann) Jussenhofen, he was born in Germany on November 3rd, 1928. In addition to his wife, Ruth, Rolf leaves to mourn his children, Ray - Anthony Jussen and Peter of Toronto and Monica Canyon of Las Vegas, USA; grandchildren, Christopher, Lee and Lorin Jussen and Kip and Cody Canyon; and sister-in-law, Betty Cluthe. Rolf was predeceased by his parents Heinrich and Anna (Poschner) and his brothers and sisters. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at the J.A. COCHRANE, ANNIE IVA MARJORIE The death of Annie Iva Marjorie "Marnie" Cochrane of Saint John, NB, wife of Frederick Laws Cochrane, occurred on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born in Linden, NS on October 30, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Elias and Matilda (Walker) Hunter. Marjorie had been a Registered Nurse at the Saint John General Hospital for forty years. She had served as a pipe organist for twenty years and also played her portable organ for numerous services throughout the city and at the Regional Hospital Chapel. She composed a published Children's Song Book and numerous hymns. She was a former member of the IODE and enjoyed entertaining her quilting club and book club friends in her home. Her many interests included her love of gardening at her home on Frink St, reading and needlepoint. She is survived by her two sons, David (Levern) Cochrane of Quispamsis, NB and Brian (Lynn) Cochrane of Fredericton, NB; four grandchildren, Shelby (Tony) Stevenson, Christopher (Christine) Cochrane, Ryan (Elizabeth Kierstead) Cochrane and Jonathan Cochrane (fiancée - Jillian Thomas); five great-grandchildren, Marshal and Bryce Stevenson, Julia and Meaghan Cochrane, and Aiden Kierstead- Cochrane; sister-in-law, Mary Evelyn Jackson; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by two brothers, Calvin and Herbert Hunter; and a sister, Hilda Field. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424. At the request of the family there will not be any visiting at the funeral home. A Memorial Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at 3:00 pm with reception to follow. CHRISTIE, STEWART JAMES Stewart J. Christie of Harvey, NB passed away November 20, 2009 at his home. Born at Harvey in 1948, he was a son of the late Roy and Grace (Johnston) Christie. Stewart is survived by his wife, Grace L. (Martin) Christie; his children, Jamie Christie (Leanne), Harvey, NB, Roy Christie (Krista), McAdam, NB and Wendy Christie (John Gardner), Harvey, NB; six grandchildren, Brandon, Dylan, Heather, Bradley, Bryanne and Daniel; a sister, Sally Bourgoin (Bobby), Sussex, NB; a brother, Edward Christie (Nancy), Harvey, NB and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Stewart was predeceased by a brother, Amos Christie. She was the daughter of the late Theodore and Muriel Jarvis and loving spouse of 63 years to Lyman Biggar who took dilligent care of her for the last 5 years. HICKS, NANCY GWEN - After a courageous struggle with cancer it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy Gwen Hicks on Thursday, November 19th, 2009 in Oromocto. She was born on June 19th, 1953 and leaves her dear father Elmer, sister Donna (Gallant) and husband Pierre and their children Erika and Sabrina; brother Timothy and Kathy (Tosh) and their children Neville, Hillary and Elliott. Predeceased by her beloved mother Phyllis Hicks. Nancy will also be dearly missed by her pet dog Oliver, affectionately known as "Ollie". She is also survived by many close cousins and relatives. During her teenage years Nancy underwent a number of major surgeries at the Montreal Neurological Hospital. With the strength of her parents and family she overcame many obstacles and went on to complete an undergraduate and Master's Degree in Education at UNB. Nancy was a teacher for many years at Summerhill Elementary School in Oromocto before she retired two years ago as a result of her illness. She was a beloved teacher of many students who will be remembered for her dedication to her love of teaching, art, drama and her compassion and commitment to the development of so many children. Teaching was her love and vocation. Many former students would remember the end of the year pool party, the plays at the drama festival, and the line up on Halloween for her famous candy apples. Nancy was a talented artist and painter who was well known at the Fredericton Craft Show for her tole paintings. She was also a talented musician who taught and played the piano, and also enjoyed the accordion with much enthusiasm at many events with her friends and family. Besides being a talented artist, Nancy was an excellent cook and loved to bake. Her cookies were famous in Oromocto and everyone always looked forward to her home cooking and delicious meals. Nancy loved her cottage at Maquapit Lake and enjoyed many summers with her family at the Lake. She loved to be surrounded by her family and friends and making sure they were well looked after. Nancy was a very giving and loving person who will be dearly missed. Her strength and commitment to caring for her mom and dad will be cherished forever. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nancy Gwen Hicks Memorial Fund, which will provide financial assistance to local SPCA's in perpetuity. FULLER, SUSAN V. - A sparkle of life has left a Saint John family today with the passing of Susan Veronica Fuller, a well known personality in the Saint John area, whose death occurred on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at her residence. Born at Saint John on June 5, 1948, she was a daughter of the late H. Frederick and Gladys Margaret (Logue) Fuller. Susan brought a smile to everyone she met; she loved all living things, and was graced with the gift of shopping, which was a great passion for her. Her working life began with NB Tel, where she worked for more than 30 years; and then progressed to the world of Real Estate, working with Exit Realty. She was an active member of St. John the Baptist Parish, and was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Susan is survived by a brother, Frederick J. Fuller (Rosalie) of Saint John; sisters Mary Ann Stevens (Donald) of Saint John and Bobbie Barrett (Murray) of Upper Golden Grove; a sister-in-law, Maureen Fuller of Saint John; several nieces and nephews; and last but not least, her dogs Jacob and Lizzy and cat Prissy. Susan was predeceased by a brother, Paul in 1979. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday from 7-9 PM and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 AM from St. Ann's Church, Simpson Drive, Saint John. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
